Picking A Song

 For my film, I have decided that I want it to have a calm, dream-like quality. I want it to be feminine and sweet. I know that I want the song "Dream a Little Dream of Me" written by Gus Khan to be playing, as it matches the theme of the film and it is the song that inspired its title. The thing that I must decide, however, is what version of the song I would like to pick for the film. There are many lovely renditions of the song, but I would like one that was sung by a woman and one that is very simple. My two favorite covers of the song are the one by Ella Fitzerald and Louis Armstrong and the one by The Mamas & the Papas.

After some debating, I decided to use the version by Cass Elliot (The Mamas & The Papas) because I prefer the simplistic, acoustic nature of the song. I also like the solo version more, rather than the duet from the other cover. I think this version of the song will be the best fit for my film.
