Doodle Motif

 I wanted to give my film the charm and quirkiness of coming-of-age films like Juno and Napoleon Dynamite. I also wanted to find a creative way to represent my character's dream sequences. So, I decided to use animated doodles that would signal to the audience that the character Amy was sleeping/ dreaming.

did all of the doodles by hand in the CapCut app on my tablet and applied an effect to them that made it seem like they were being drawn on screen and continuously animated. I think they turned out really cute!! I also used a 'wipe' animated and eraser sound effect that made the doodles feel more like real drawings.

The doodles remind me of the Juno opening sequence where Elliot Page's character walks through a graphic-novel-like animated world. My doodles are not as technically impressive, but hope they convey the same vibe. The drawings also remind me of the Disney XD show, Kirby Buckets.'
