Coloring

To make my film opening more cinematic, I played around with different filters I could use to change the coloring of the footage. To edit, I am going to use the CapCut app, as I already have some experience with it and I find it to be very user-friendly. To go along with the dream-like quality that I wanted to emulate, I knew I wanted to turn up the saturation a bit, but other than that I wasn't sure what I wanted. So, I decided to see what colorings I liked.

The Original Footage

The first option I explored was very subtle, it took up the vividness of the original colors and added a warmth to the picture, but I decided that I wanted something a little bit more bold.

The next filter I looked at was on the opposite end of the spectrum, very vivid with a pinkish tint and a slight blur. I liked the look of this filter, but I thought it might be a bit much for the entire film. However, I want to keep it in mind for the "dream sequence" part of my film.

Filter #2

The last filter I looked at was my favorite, it was saturated and it made the colors pop, but if you didn't know there was a filter, you might not even realize. I tested it on all of the scenes to see if I wanted to keep it throughout and it looked nice with all lighting and setting variations.
