Adding atmospheric sound

I have finished most of the audio editing for my film, but I realized that there is not much atmospheric (diegetic) sound happening. I have dialogue but that is it. So, over the next few days, I want to record some sounds that I can put into my film. I want to record the rustling of bedsheets, footsteps, and the sound of a phone turning on. I want some outdoor ambiance for the scenes I have outside, so I'm going to see if I can record some. If not, I will use a YouTube video (that I will credit, of course) instead.

For the bedsheet sounds, I will just record them in my room with my fan off to reduce the noise. But for the footsteps, I need it to sound like the person is walking outside, so I think I will try to record my own footsteps in my driveway. For the phone sound, I will record the button pressing sound from one of my family member's phones and then probably use a sound effect for the iPhone opening audio. I can then overlay these audio clips onto my footage to add some more sound and make the setting more convincing.

Tonight, I have a lot of homework to do. So hopefully tomorrow night I will be able to record all of the audio. Other than the audio, I really only need to add my final touches to finish my opening!
